Slackware 12.1 is released!
Kész a rendszer! :-)
Well folks, it's that time to announce a new stable Slackware release again. So, without further ado, announcing Slackware version 12.1! Since we've moved to supporting the 2.6 kernel series exclusively (and fine-tuned the system to get the most out of it), we feel that Slackware 12.1 has many improvements over our last release (Slackware 12.0) and is a must-have upgrade for any Slackware user.
Among the many program updates and distribution enhancements, you'll find better support for RAID, LVM, and cryptsetup; a network capable (FTP and HTTP, not only NFS) installer; and two of the most advanced desktop environments available today: Xfce 4.4.2, a fast, lightweight, and visually appealing desktop environment, and KDE 3.5.9, the latest 3.x version of the full-featured K Desktop Environment.

Also please consider helping to support the project financially at http://store.slackware.com (the CD set and DVD are off to replication, but pre-orders are being taken now). Your kind support and the help of many volunteers is what makes this project possible. Huge thanks are due to everybody who pitched in and helped with bug reports, patches, testing, suggestions, other comments, and everything else. Without this valuable input, Slackware would be nowhere near what it is today. A honlapjukon azt irjak slamd64-re van forditva, de kivancsi lennek probalta-e mar valaki feltenni BW64-re?

slamd64 - bluewhite64
GSB Gnome-ot nem használok.
A slamd64 multilib toolchain-t használ a bluewhite64 non-multilib toolchain-t (ezzel van lefordítva a többi program), amit a slamd64-ből alakított át. Ennyi rémlik.

Sziasztok!
Arra lennék kíváncsi, hogy használja -e közületek valaki valamelyik 64 bit -es verziót (Slamd64, Bluewhite64). Régebben volt a fórumon arról szó, hogy a 64 bites programok még nem eléggé kiforrottak (böngésző, flash, java szívás). Még mindig fenn áll ez a helyzet? Szerintetek érdemes átváltani a 64 bites verziók valamelyikére? (Most, hogy kijött a Slackware 12.1 úgyis újra rakom a rendszert.)

Nekem amióta 64 bites cuccom van, azóta nyűvöm a slamd64-et, meg mostanában a bluewhite-t. Megy mindenem, de hozzá kell tenni, hogy én sok cuccot magam forgatok, lehet hogy a fele sem érhető el még binárisként.
A bluewhite nekem jobban bejött, korrektebbnek tűnik, meg (amint látni) gyorsabban dolgoznak rajta (pár napra a slacki 12.1 megjelenése után, már meg is volt a portolás).
Ja és végrevalahára megy normálisan az ati driver. Xv is!
Bár ez lehet hogy a 32 bites rendszeren is már jó (12.0-val esett/kelt)
A böngésző probléma meg könnyen orvosolható... 32 bites firefoxot használok, ez a legegyszerübb. 4-5 cucc így van megoldva nálam.
A 32 bites lib-ek is fent vannak a dvd-n, de a bw-nél külön kell őket feltenni!
Ez a "nem igazán kiforrottak" problémát inkább úgy nevezném, hogy "nincsenek leforgatva", kombinálva a "nem nyílt forrásúak"-al :)
Ezektől függetlenül, csak ha érdekel az új környezet, akkor van sok értelme használni őket.
Vagy ha 4gigánál több memóriád van.
